The Evansville Sports Corporation’s mission is to enhance the image, economy and quality of life of the community through the attraction, creation and promotion of sporting events. ESC events, since our inception in 2010, have equated to more than $10 million dollars in Estimated Economic Impact on the community. Our goal is to build a strong reputation for this community as a premiere sports event destination by delivering first class service to the governing bodies and visitors that come to the Tri-State for sporting events.

Position Title:           Project Manager

Reports to:               Executive Director


Event Management

● Assist Executive Director in management of operations and logistics for ESC events

● Support Local Organizing Committees to assist in managing events

● Recruit, train and schedule volunteers as needed for events

● Help develop and execute marketing plans, ticket sales initiatives and other promotional efforts

● Communicate regularly with event organizers, facility representatives and other key event contacts

● Create and manage event budgets

● Assist with sponsorship sales

● Work with hospitality partners to provide an enhanced experience for event participants and fans

Event Development

● Promote and sell Evansville, IN as a premiere sports and events destination

● Engage in sales activities that meet or exceed goals in lead generation, new accounts, connections, winning bids, new business and event growth

● Research and recruit new events for Evansville while working to retain annual eventsAdditional Responsibilities

Additional Responsibilities

● Maintain ESC social media platforms

● Help create and organize press releases and press conferences as well as other PR initiatives

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Tourism, Sales or related field preferred
  • Event management experience
  • Recent work experience (1-3 years) in sport management or related field
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with a non-profit helpful

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and ability to drive own car as well as company vehicles
  • Outdoor, evening and weekend work required as needed
